Versa 4 issues :(

I've worn a Versa 2 for ~2.5 years and while it had its quirks, it did the job well for my purposes. I thought the Versa 4 would be a nice, well deserved upgrade, but so far I am unfortunately disappointed for the following reasons:

  1. Exercise (Running) tracking:
    1. When I start a run, I usually switch between automatic and manual lap tracking. With the Versa 4, often the run starts much too fast for me to switch the setting, so I end up having to start an exercise, immediately stop it, start another one and then I am able to adjust the settings. This is pretty annoying
    2. I often use the manual lap setting while running to do different interval workouts. It was very easy with my Versa 2, as I had the option to see stats on a per lap basis (ie, lap time elapsed and lap distance, as well as overall time / distance). For whatever reason, seeing stats on a per lap basis is not an option on the Versa 4? This is extremely frustrating - if I am doing mile repeats with a minute rest in between, I have to guesstimate when and at what distances I start / stop since I can't actually tell how far or long I have gone within the lap. This is probably the most frustrating part of my experience with the Versa 4 so far.
    3. GPS connection seems weaker / more buggy than that of the Versa 2
  2. Music control
    1. My Versa 2 had the ability to control volume or skip tracks of music playing on my phone. It does not appear this is possible on Versa 4. This was a nice convenience I had on the older version that I am now lacking with the upgrade
  3. Charging
    1. The charging cord is much too short - not sure who designed it but it is so short that my Versa 4 sits on the floor when it is charging because the cord is too short for it to fit on my nightstand
    2. The Versa 4 battery life seems worse than my Versa 2 and it was ~2.5 years old!
  4. Bitmoji clock face
    1. I loved the Bitmoji clock face on the Versa 2 and I was under the impression that when I purchased the Versa 4 that I would be able to use the Bitmoji clock face, but I have found that it is not the case

All of my issues with the Versa 4 seem either 1) pretty easy to resolve, given they're already features on a much older version or 2) my own misunderstanding with the interface and I am missing something. If there former is true, is there anyone I can get in contact with to express this feedback? If the latter is true, can someone from customer service or someone on this forum please help me? I would love to keep using fitbit but am feeling disappointed

Hi @magick8ball - as you are discovering the Versa 2 is a more complete and reliable watch, I still find the original Versa (& versa 2) best for heart rate accuracy and some functions.

The Versa 2 uses the superior phone GPS, which gives greater accuracy and better battery life for the watch.

Have a look here in the forums at how others found similar issues, so it is not you alone.

if you are unhappy with the watch Fitbit have a 45 day refund policy or possibly authorised dealers too, some stores provide 14 to 30 day refunds.
