Versa 4 no longer able to get any notifications concerning my walking progress

I have a pair of Sony wireless ear buds paired with my phone and Fitbit Versa 4.  I used to get a message using the Fibbit notifications app when I completed my steps taken when I had the Versa 3.  No longer able to get any notifications concerning my walking progress through the ear buds.  Everything else works fine, including text, phone calls, etc.  But nothing on walking.  Any thoughts?
