Versa 4 not recording heart rate properly on elliptical

When I start an elliptical exercise machine, I go into the exercise app and start the specific elliptical exercise.  Lately, my watch has not been recording my heart rate correctly.  Last night, during a 40 minute workout, it recorded my heart rate between 65 and 70 for the entire thing.  I generally run between 140 to160 heart rate for that exercise.  I've tried adjusting the tightness on the watch band but that doesn't help.  The versa 4 usually records my heart rate correctly for everything else.

How can I fix this?

Same problem here. Very frustrating. I get about 10 to 15 mins of semi-accurate readings, then it drops and stays 50 to 60 beats lower that what I am actually measuring by taking my pulse. I have worn it tighter, worn it higher, switched wrists, held the stationary handles instead of the mobile ones on the machine (to rule out the motion as a problem), taken it off mid-workout to wipe off sweat from my arm and the back of the watch, and rinsed and dried the watch and my arm mid -workout. Nothing works. Going to follow in hopes of an answer.
