The heart rate monitor on my versa four is awful and that's the only main reason I got it. For such an expensive piece of equipment, it would be nice if the basic features worked. During exercise it's all over the place. It'll see my heart rate is 70 when I've been jogging for 6 miles up Mountain . I know that can't be right. The other day, I even pulled out my old charge for and wore them at the same time and the heart rates were so incredibly different now I'm wondering if the past half of my workouts have been not accurately monitored. Does anyone have the same issue or how to fix it?

Hi there, @LaPARKER. Thanks for stopping by in the Fitbit Community Forums. I'm sorry to hear about the inconveniences you're having with your Versa 4. I understand your concern. I will do my best to help you with this!
As a first approach, note that you might notice slight variations between your heart-rate reading on your new Fitbit devices compared with your old ones due to improvements in the heart rate sensor and algorithm.
Differences between heart-rate readings on your device and on exercise equipment are likely due to wrist or hand position. Make sure the back of your device is in contact with your wrist and that your band is snug.
In addition to that, take into consideration that several factors can affect heart rate, including air temperature, stress level, alcohol or caffeine intake, immune response to illness, and medication use.
Exercising in cold weather can make it more difficult for your device to track your heart rate, as environmental conditions can affect skin perfusion (the amount of blood that flows through your skin). Review our tips in How do I improve the accuracy of a heart-rate reading?
For more information, please see What factors can affect my heart-rate reading on my Fitbit device?

Hello,
Replying here because I've had this same issue lately, seemingly after an update a couple weeks ago. Up to about 140-ish during my workout, the versa 4 will accurately read my heart rate, but anything higher (during heavy cardio), and it will start reading around 100, even though it should be over 150 at that point. This is not a problem that's always happened, only after the update my versa 4 had a couple weeks ago. I believe there to be some sort of bug with the software. Also, the band seems to be a little more willing to track accurately when I have the app open and focused on my phone, but as soon as I close the app, or open another with the Fitbit app in the background, it begins it's usually errors.
