Versa 4 not tracking sleep

Replies are disabled for this topic. Start a new one or visit our Help Center.

Hello and good day.

I have noticed my Versa 4 not tracking my sleep even though I wear it all night. It's charged and up to date. The only thing I am unsure of if my phone's bluetooth needs to be on for sleep track to be recorded.

Thank you for reading.

Hi, @Truffle! Your bluetooth shouldn't need to be on to track your sleep. Do you have a fairly typical sleep schedule (like 6+ hours during the night)? If so, I would suggest trying to manually track the sleep for a few nights and see if that can't kick start the tracking.

Good to see you participating in the community @Truffle.

Thank you for taking the time to share the information regarding this difficulty with your Versa 4.

I recommend considering the following in order to get sleep stages:

  • If you slept in a position that prevented your device from getting a consistent heart-rate reading or wore it too loosely. For best results, wear your device higher on your wrist (about 2-3 finger widths above your wrist bone). The band should feel secure but not too tight.
  • If you used the Begin Sleep Now option in the Fitbit app (instead of simply wearing your device to bed). For more information on automatic sleep tracking, see How do I track my sleep with my Fitbit device?
  • If you slept for less than 3 hours.
  • If your device’s battery is critically low.

For more information, see What should I know about Fitbit sleep stages?

Additionally, I'd recommend to sync your Versa 4 to the app after waking up. This will help to make sure that all your data is sync properly.

Thanks for the help provided @MakMak

It's not just your Versa 4. For the past two weeks the app has been totally messed up in regards to tracking sleep. An established Charge 4, perfect connection with app and all of a sudden it didn't track sleep or data on heart, etc for 5 days. Then sleep infows there but totally different. Awake, restless, asleep instead of Awake, REM, Light, Deep.

For q day it was back to normal but this morning was screwed up again!

What's up with this Fitbit?!

I'm going to need to send mine back as sleep is the one thing I got it for. It's only tracking part the night, then last night, nothing at all!!! I made sure I did all the right things, sensitivity, not loose watch, up to date app. I've had a versa 2 and it was great. Really disappointed so far with the versa4

I'm glad to know it is not just me. My Versa 2 tracked sleep without me doing anything. Sleep tracking I thought was a basic feature like heart rate and counting steps. (My Versa2 is no longer.) Then for Christmas I got a Versa 4. So I've been trying to make it work. My dad also has the same Versa4 and says it tracks his sleep without him doing anything. I've already sent my back for a refund.

I went ahead and did just that.

Thank you for taking the time to reply. None of those bullets apply to me.

I do have a fairy typical sleep schedule. I'm unsure how to manually log it, I tried using Versa 4 itself but it seems manual sleep logging is just for the app or website. I went ahead and sent mine back. Thank you for taking the time to reply.
