Versa 4 screen remains dim even after changing the settings

I just got and set up my Versa 4 today. When changing the brightness from dim, normal and max it changes to the correct amount of brightness for a split second and then goes back to dim. I've already tried turning the watch off and back on, but that didn't do anything What is going on? Can I do anything to fix it, or can this PLEASE be patched through an update? It's pretty annoying bc I had a Versa 3 2 years ago and this was never an issue

Hi @Echo97 - in the initial firmware this is a really annoying problem and it's possible you didn't get the 194.86 firmware during setup.

Check in Settings, About Versa 4, System info menu.

You will receive an update prompt in a few days or simply factory reset it from the settings menu to get it immediately if you don't have that version.

Hi there, @Echo97. Welcome to the Fitbit Community Forums. Thanks for bringing this to my attention and for the troubleshooting steps you've tried. I'm sorry to hear that your new Versa 4 screen remains dim even after changing the brightness settings. I understand how you must be feeling, we're here to help!

If the steps recommended by @Guy_ don't help, I'd recommend checking whether your Versa 4 is in sleep mode. When sleep mode is on:

  • Notifications, goal celebrations, and reminders are muted.
  • The screen's brightness is set to dim.
  • The screen stays dark when you turn your wrist. To wake your tracker, firmly tap the screen twice.
  • The sleep mode icon illuminates in quick settings.

My device shows I have the correct firmware and attempted the factory reset
but the problem has not been resolved. Any other suggestions would be
appreciated..

Update: I've double checked for sleep mode. Even when sleep mode is off, the issue remains

@Echo97 Thanks for following the tips and recommendations I've provided.

In addition to the steps you've done so far, please try the following:

  1. From the Today tab in the Fitbit app, tap the devices icon at the top-left corner.
  2. Tap the device they want to sync.
  3. Near the bottom of the page, tap Sync Now.

If the above doesn't work, please make sure you've restarted your Fitbit device as suggested here How do I restart my Fitbit device? Note: Restarting the device doesn’t delete any data. If the restart doesn't work try to change your clock face. If this fixes the issue, you can change your clock face back to the original clock face.
