Versa 4 stops receiving notifications out of the nowhere

My fitbit twice in the last week has changed the settings for text messages.   It's turned it off so that I'm not getting text messages through my device.   I've done nothing to make these changes.   There's a reason I turned it on but it keeps turning it off.   Why is it doing this and what can I do to make it stop?

Hi there, @RW77. It's nice to see you around the Fitbit Community Forums. Thanks for bringing this to my attention and for the troubleshooting steps you've tried. I'm sorry to hear that your Versa 4 keeps doing this odd behavior. I understand your concern, I will do my best to help you with this!

It sounds like you have the sleep mode turned on. 
When the sleep mode setting is on:

  • Notifications, goal celebrations, and reminders to move are muted.
  • The screen's brightness is set to dim.
  • The Always-On Display clock face is turned off.
  • The screen stays dark when you turn your wrist.
  • The sleep mode icon illuminates in the quick settings.

To turn it off, swipe down from the clock face on your watch to access the quick settings.

If the above doesn't describe your issue, please check whether you have a sleep schedule by following the steps below:

  1. Open the Settings app and tap Quiet modes.
  2. Under Sleep mode, tap Schedule mode.
  3. Make sure the switch next to Off-hours is turned off.
  4. Tap the start or stop time to adjust when the mode turns on and off. Swipe up or down to change the time, and tap the time to select it. Sleep mode automatically turns off at the time you schedule, even if you manually turned it on.

Yeah none of these are my issue.   I'd already checked all that made sure notifications were coming through how I wanted.  They did for awhile than just stopped.   I rechecked all those things again and had to reset them how I wanted.
