Versa 4 stops tracking my sleep data around 2-3 am in the morning

I recently upgraded from a Versa 3 to a Versa 4.  With the v3, it tracked my sleep every night and the data was there every morning. It’s very spotty with the v4. Most of the time it stops tracking around 2 or 3 in the morning. Last night it didn’t track any data. I wear my v4 to bed and my phone is very close by

Hi there, @Grammy_05. Welcome to the Fitbit Community Forums. I'm sorry to hear that your Versa 4 is not tracking your sleep data and sleep times accurately. I understand where your concern is coming from as you didn't have this inconvenience with your Versa 3. I'll be glad to help you!

How new is your Versa 4? Did you get it very recently? If so, please note since you just bought it, give the RHR a few days to settle down. It does some calculations, looking at heart rate throughout the day and while you are sleeping, so it might just not have enough data to give a reasonable value yet.

In addition to that, I recommend considering the following in order to get sleep stages:

  • If you slept in a position that prevented your device from getting a consistent heart-rate reading or wore it too loosely. For best results, wear your device higher on your wrist (about 2-3 finger widths above your wrist bone). The band should feel secure but not too tight.
  • If you used the Begin Sleep Now option in the Fitbit app (instead of simply wearing your device to bed). For more information on automatic sleep tracking, see How do I track my sleep with my Fitbit device?
  • If you slept for less than 3 hours.
  • If your device’s battery is critically low.

For more information, see What should I know about Fitbit sleep stages?

Hope this helps.
