Versa 4 stuck on message "To start download the Fitbit app"

It gives me message to download the app, which is already on my phone. Very frustrating for a new watch that I like (so far).

Hi there, @KatrinaEdelweis. Thanks for stopping by in the Community Forums and sharing the details about the issue with your Versa 4. I understand how you must be feeling. 

Have you tried what @Guy_ has recommended? As per the message on the watch's screen, it seems that your Versa 4 is asking to be paired to your Fitbit account again. With that said, I'd suggest following the steps below:

  • Check if by any chance your phone's Bluetooth shows the Versa 4 as a connected device. If so, please unpair/remove it.
  • Remove the Versa 4 from your Fitbit account and your phone's Bluetooth settings.
  • Force quit the Fitbit app.
  • Turn off the Bluetooth.
  • Shut off your phone and turn it on after 1-2 minutes.
  • Turn on the Bluetooth.
  • Set up your Versa 4 again.
  • If there is no connection, restart your Versa 4.

If you can't get started with your Versa 4, usually a missing requirement is the cause. Carefully review the requirements provided in the help article Why can't I set up my Fitbit device?

Hi @KatrinaEdelweis - in the Fitbit App on your phone click the profile photo, top left and then click on "+ Set up a Device" to get the watch recognised by the app.

 

It will take care of finding it and setting up Bluetooth and installing firmware.
