Hello,

The recent update for the versa 4 seems to have killed it.

It is just cycling through the screens above. I let the battery run out then turned it back on and did a factory reset. I have also tried deleting and reinstalling the app, but no joy.

Any other ideas?

Hi @JimmyNailWelcome to our community forums!

I'm sory to hear that your Versa 4 is unable to complete the update.  I appreciate the information and pictures provided.

Before you begin the firmware update, plug your watch into the charger. Make sure your watch is in range of your home or work Wi-Fi network during the update, or connected to your nearby phone.

Once you have verified this, follow the steps in this article: Why can't I update my Fitbit device?

hello.... I tried all of that, but it still gets stuck on the same cycle. Update bar gets to around 10%, then then fitbit logo, then the sync from device screen.

Any other ideas?

Hi @JimmyNail - if the watch was faulty before the factory reset it might not be able to fix it.

In addition did you try removing the Bluetooth entries for the watch from the phone , rebooting the phone and then try the setup with phone WiFi and mobile data individually?

Hi Guy,

It's been working totally fine a year, I only take it off to charge it. Are there any indicators that it was faulty prior to the update?

I've also tried rebooting the phone, then reinstalling the app and reconnecting Bluetooth. Still got stuck in the same loop...

@JimmyNail - thanks, if the watch was working fine before the update, normal battery life and watch behaviour, then it is possible the factory reset failed to work properly. Sometimes it may fail completely.

You could try another factory reset by using the button but do make sure first:

To remove Bluetooth entries before rebooting phone.

Remove device from the account.

On Android phones clear the Fitbit App storage cache before rebooting the phone.

Turn off any other phones/tablets and watches during the setup process.

Try setup with just WiFi or data on the phone (different connection paths).

I experienced the same. Mine is a year and half old. But after 17 March update, heart rate sensor stopped working and it is doing exactly the same after I tried factory reset
