Versa 4 won't show my steps just my calories

My Versa 4 has stopped tracking my steps on my IPhone. Also does not alert me with reminders to move if I haven’t logged at 250 steps an hour.

Hi @Tteters - see Why won't my Fitbit device sync?

When the app has no watch data the only thing it can estimate is calories, based on elapsed time.

Hi there, @Tteters. Welcome to the Fitbit Community Forums. I'm sorry to hear that the reminders to move on your Versa 4 has stopped working. We'll be glad to help you with this.

I agree with @Guy_. Based on your post, this seems to be a syncing issue.

If the issue persists after following Guy_'s recommendations, please try the steps below in the order listed:

  • Unpair your Fitbit device from your phone's Bluetooth and Fitbit app.
  • Unpair other Bluetooth devices that you may also have paired to your phone's Bluetooth settings.
  • Force quit the Fitbit app.
  • Turn off other Bluetooth connections when not in use. This can help to prevent connectivity issues or Bluetooth interference.
  • Shut off your phone and turn it on after 1-2 minutes.
  • Turn on the Bluetooth on your phone.
  • Plug it into the charging cable and open the Fitbit app.
  • Set up your Fitbit device.
  • If there is no connection, restart your Fitbit device.
  • Once your Fitbit device is paired and syncing, please proceed to set up your other Bluetooth devices to your phone again.

With the steps above, what I want you to do is to pair your Versa 4 first to your phone's Bluetooth settings before any other Bluetooth device is connected to your phone.

Regarding the calories burned you seen on the Fitbit app, please note this is an expected behavior as that value is your estimated calorie burn for the day so far based on your BMR. We estimate your calorie burn based on your age, gender, height and weight. You burning calories even when you are sleeping. When you are not wearing your Fitbit then it is estimated your passive calories burned. For more information, see How accurate are Fitbit devices?
