Versa 4 won't start after several fitbit app reinstallations and factory reset for 4 days now!

I did a factory reset last week and after that my Versa 4 won't work. I have been intouch via phone with fitbit support and gotten little help beyond the fact that their fitbit app software was being updated and wasn't working on android phones! I even got disconnected by one of their agents during a support call. I wondered why they wouldn't inform clients via email of any software hitches so that we're informed of issues on their end - because I honestky thought my watch was having a bug hence the decision to try and get it to work. I have now tried everything they list on their book - I've restarted and reinstalled both the app & including a factory reset on the watch and in as much as the fitbit app says that it can detect the versa 4 and gives me the 4 digit code, I am unable to key in the code on my versa 4 which right now has the set-up screen showing how to set up my versa 4. It is very frustrating and I am wondering whether to just forget this watch for good. Anyone else going through this?
