Versa 4 won't stay connected to my phone's Bluetooth

I have had several Fitbits over the years but believe the versa 4 will be my last one .

I had a Fitbit Lite which gave up but it always stayed connected to my Iphone. The versa 4 does not.I have to constantly check if it is connected and re-connect . I have reset/restarted/reset again etc all of the advice I could find but nothig helps .The only solution is to keep my phone close by but that should not be the answer .

Regards,Anne

Hi there, @Conneely. Welcome to the Fitbit Community Forums. Thanks for the details provided in your post about the issue with your Versa 4 and your time in trying to troubleshoot it before reaching out.

In addition to the steps you've done so far, I'd recommend trying the following steps in the order listed:

  • Unpair your Versa 4 from your phone's Bluetooth and Fitbit app.
  • Unpair other Bluetooth devices that you may also have paired to your phone's Bluetooth settings.
  • Force quit the Fitbit app.
  • Turn off other Bluetooth connections when not in use. This can help to prevent connectivity issues or Bluetooth interference.
  • Shut off your phone and turn it on after 1-2 minutes.
  • Turn on the Bluetooth on your phone.
  • Plug it into the charging cable and open the Fitbit app.
  • Set up your Versa 4.
  • If there is no connection, restart your Versa 4.
  • Once your Versa 4 is paired and syncing, please proceed to set up your other Bluetooth devices to your phone again.

With the steps above, what I want you to do is to pair your Versa 4 first to your phone's Bluetooth settings before any other Bluetooth device is connected to your phone.

I have the same issue. Everytime I want to see my most recent fibit stats (my sleep hours in the morning, my exercise stats after the gym, etc) I have to toggle my Bluetooth on / off on my iPhone, then open the Fitbit app and pull down to refresh. I’ve a had several other fitbits through out the years & never had this problem. I tried to return it under warranty but got the annoying auto response of “the steps”

Hi,

Thanks for your answer but I did all of the above (twice) when I got it and it didn't help . I also do not have any other device connected even though that should not be an issue as it should work regardless.

Sending it back and trying for a refund was also  a task on it's own so I decided to keep it but as said earlier it will be the last one .

Kind regards.

Exactly my experience . My regret was not checking the forums before I bought it but guessed that as I have had several in the past that it would be ok.

I’m having the same problems as you and the other poster. It won’t stay connected to Bluetooth, and it won’t sync reliably even when it is. I’ve done all they suggest, but nope.

I’m glad I at least didn’t pay for the thing, but was sent it by a research program I’m part of. I’m also glad I also have my good old Apple Watch. People look at me funny for wearing both, but they do some different things, and everything about the Apple Watch is easier. I just bought a new Apple Watch, and will stop using the Fitbit when the research period is over.
