Versa 4 won't track my swim laps accurately

I wear my Versa 4 when swimming laps. I set the pool length before starting. I note when I swim in 50m pools the laps counted by versa 4 seems to be double the number of laps I have actually swum. When I swim in 25m pools the laps counted by versa 4 seems to be accurate. My Charge 3 had the same problem.
