Versa 4 won't work unless it's connected to the charger

My fitbit versa 4 won't stay turned on when not on charger. It goes to a black screen and when I try turning it on the fitbit logo appears for a few seconds and goes back to a black screen. When I put it on the charger it powers up and says battery is full. I have tried restarting fitbit, un pairing from phone and app and repairing. And have tried a factory reset and nothing works

Hi there, @Gchandler06. Welcome to the Fitbit Community Forums. Thanks for bringing this to my attention and for the troubleshooting steps you've tried. I'm sorry to hear that your Versa 4 is not working unless it's connected to the charger. I understand your concern, I will do my best to help you with this!

Since your Versa 4 is only working while connected to the charger and it's showing the Fitbit logo, please attempt the following steps in the order listed even if some of them you've tried already:

  • Unpair your Versa 4 from your phone's Bluetooth and Fitbit app.
  • Unpair other Bluetooth devices that you may also have paired to your phone's Bluetooth settings.
  • Force quit the Fitbit app.
  • Turn off other Bluetooth connections when not in use. This can help to prevent connectivity issues or Bluetooth interference.
  • Shut off your phone and turn it on after 1-2 minutes.
  • Turn on the Bluetooth on your phone.
  • Plug it into the charging cable and open the Fitbit app.
  • Set up your Versa 4.
  • If there is no connection, restart your Versa 4.
  • Once your Versa 4 is paired and syncing, please proceed to set up your other Bluetooth devices to your phone again.

Please make sure your Versa 4 is receiving good power source, please find below some tips to best charge Fitbit devices:

  • Use only genuine Fitbit charging cables
  • Avoid USB battery packs
  • Charge at room temperature

For charging purposes, your charging cable or your base station can be plugged into any USB power source, including but not limited to:

  • A computer
  • A Wall A/C to USB adapter, commonly found with smartphones
  • A DC to USB adapter (vehicle power port)

If the above doesn't work, may I know the steps you took to perform the factory reset you mentioned? Important: Take into consideration that a factory reset deletes any stored data, which includes all data that hasn't synced to your Fitbit account and your applications, alarms, etc.
