Versa4 not tracking steps and distance accurately

Replies are disabled for this topic. Start a new one or visit our Help Center.

Since getting my Versa 4 a few months ago I’ve noticed the steps don’t register accurately and sometimes they don’t track at all. For example, I walked into a department store pushing a cart and halfway through the store without it tracking 1 step.

I don’t think the gps is connected as the distance recorded is not accurate.

The heart rate measure during workouts is spotty at best. I can be working out hard and be out of breath and it tell me my heart rate is in the 120’s.

any suggestions?

Not a full answer but a couple quick notes:

(a) Heart rate means nothing without knowing age.  I am 76.  Out of breath with heart rate in 120s would be normal.

(b) Normal to not get steps when wrist held steady as in pushing shopping cart or holding hand rail on treadmill but should still get heart rate for calories, etc.  If step count is more important to you, put tracker in your pocket but lose heart rate.

I have the same issue with the heart rate and step count. You can try adjusting your walking stride to correct the distance. From the app, Profile>Activity & Wellness > Exercise >  Stride Length

But stride length has nothing to do with step count.  It is used only to convert step count to distance.
