Versus can’t count stair climbing in a humid climate and showers

All the Fitbits I’ve owned (about 6) can’t count stair climbing.  I just got all sorts of badges for supposedly climbing 175 stairs yesterday.  Yes I did climb a few stairs and did a couple of moderate level hikes totaling about 9 miles in a humid climate then took a shower.  Elevation change was not that much.  175 is a gross overestimation but not terribly surprising given what I have seen about how these record for many years. And yes, it does not always recognize a stair climb in dry climate.  Sometimes I have to put my hand on the floor, climb the stairs, then raise my hand above my head and shake it.  Same thing happens on a smaller scale when I do a swim workout with showers before and after.  I also wear an Apple Watch.  It does not have this humidity problem although it is even worse than the Fitbits for giving credit for stair climbing in a dry climate.

Hi @Elanhui - it is possible that the pressure sensor hole gets clogged with water and so can't measure floors but it sounds like the watch is faulty if it is over reading and can be replaced under warranty.

Not likely. They have all done this. I think it is a design flaw. I’ve had a couple three types of fitbits including two Versa 4s and a couple of Versa 2s.
