Why not show floors with feet or meter instead?

Per Fitbit, floors are counted using an altimeter, and log 1 floor when 10 feet in elevation gain is detected.  In that case, why not just show feet or meter, to be more straightforward and accurate?  The height of floor in each build is different and using floor to indicate the elevation gain is misleading.

Hello @FitB2Ysr and welcome to the Community.  You need to go back in Fitbit's history to understand this feature.  Fitbit's earliest products were all digital pedometers, encouraging people to take more steps and be more active.  Many people need to be nudged to increase their activity, even in little ways.  One way to do this is to encourage people to take the stairs.  It's one way of saying, "See, I took the stairs!"  So Fitbit put the altimeter in its second tracker model, the Ultra.  It was never meant to estimate elevation gain by hiking, for example.
