My versa 3 has just died, I’ve seen there is a versa 4 on it’s way. Trying to find out if it will show lengths swum on the watch as earlier versions did but the 3 doesn’t.

In the past the evidence if a Ftbit tracker could measure swim lenghts was the presence, or lack of it, of the gyroscope.

To stay only in the last products Sense (having gyroscope) could measure the lengths while Versa 3 couldn't (lacking the gyroscope).

According the specification neither Sense 2 nor Versa 4 have gyroscope so this opens up to 3 possibilities:

1) there is an error in store description and the gyroscope is available in one or both devices

2) the feature has been silently taken away from the Sense 2

3) Fitbit is now able to measure lengths without gyroscope hence the feature is now available.

This is another question where we would really be happy to have Fitbit representatives to answer but it's evident they don't care (or they can't answer for some reasons)

No idea yet, and honestly this bothers me more than anything else about the Versa. I'm not asking for SWOLF, just the abality to keep up with laps. It's more annoying that this feature was taken away, so it's not like they face a technical hurdle.

You know I forgot all about the gyroscope. The Versa 4 isn't showing one on the site under specs.

Actually not even Sense 4 (it wouldn't be the first time of a silent regression compared to the previous model but this time seems quite exagerrated at the point that they should have had different names)

Thanks for replying, looks like I need to shop around for other options

The manual confirms the absence of the gyroscope so I would rule out the lenght count in real time.

Do you have the link to the manual? I wasn't expecting them to count laps as fitbit doesn't have good swim metrics.
