New User. Older senior. Received versa 4 as a gift. Android, installed Fitbit band Fitness Monitor ver. 2.7.
Samsung Galaxy s9
Would like the free software option and want to start out with tracking walking for now and also want to become familiar with the various watch functions.
Tried to sign on with a free account and smartwidgetlabs.com displayed asking me permission to track and record a ton of health related data. I selected "activity and exercise", and "Fitbit devices and settings" and pressed allow. Again a login with Fitbit account screen displayed. And then another sign in screen.
I selected continue with Google and the same smart widget labs screen came up asking for the data items again. Do you have to select all items in order for the registration to go through?
Also, on the first screen that displays on the Android app, I tried the login later option, and this brought up Onlineactivation.com. And doing this a second time it brought up Fanjestic.com. And after Googling these they are both spam and I got suspicious of this whole process.
Is the smartwidgetlabs.com the valid Fitbit application for their data entry? And again, do you have to fill in all those fields in order to register? Can you still select the free option?
Thanks for your help,
Don

Hi @doit44
You can download the official Fitbit app from the Google play store (here). You will be able to register for an account (with Google) through the step by step set up process.
I'm not really sure what these other websites you talk about are, but everything should be handled through the official Fitbit app.

I think what you mean above is that you are trying to use the app "Fitness band - Fitness tracker" by Smart widgets Co. This is not the correct app and has nothing to do with Fitbit, it's likely for a completely different brand of tracker. Please use the link I posted above to download the official Fitbit app.
