Switch on notifications for Spotify or whatever in the fitbit app.

Start playing music on your phone ... Then pause it.

You'll get a notification on your watch, and boom, music controls when you tap the notification.

Granted, it doesn't have a good UI like it SHOULD (thanks google) but it works.

@ryukseo Might not be true of different phones because this did not work with my iPhone.

@Heather-S It's also not true for some Android phones. It will work on some but not all.
