Hi,
Anyone here who had success setting up their Versa to a Huawei P20 Lite running on Android 8.0 (oreo). I'm having problems setting up my versa, til I found that it's not listed from their supported phones; which I feel should be updated since majority of the phones are released a few years back...
Thanks in advance!

Hi, @AlejandraFitbit, as you may be aware, Fitbits are not compatible with Huawei Lite phones, so not only will it not work 100%, it will not work.
Fitbit has issued this statement:
"WHAT SHOULD I KNOW ABOUT USING MY FITBIT DEVICE WITH A HUAWEI PHONE?
Due to Bluetooth issues that prevent Huawei Lite models, including P8 and P9 Lite, from syncing with some devices, like Fitbit devices, our products are not compatible with these mobile phones."
You can find that information here. So I don't think following the instructions you have shared will do any good.

Hi, @Didro, my understanding is that the "lite" versions of the Huawei phones handle bluetooth differently from standard bluetooth connections and therefore have connectivity issues with a wide range of bluetooth device, including Fitbits.

A warm welcome to the Forums @Didro and @Julia_G thanks for stopping by.
When a phone isn't compatible it doesn't mean that it won't work with your Fitbit, you just might experience some connectivity issues.
If you keep having issues pairing your Versa, you can always try the instructions provided in the help article Why can't I set up my Fitbit device? but I don't guarantee it will work 100%.
Let me know the outcome.

Thanks Alejandra! This versa is my first fitbit device, too bad I didn't thought of checking phone compatibility prior to me acquiring a P20 lite. I had already paired my versa to my iPhone 8, but I just thought to use it with an Android phone instead so I can make use of the quick response feature. So I unpaired it to iPhone, reset versa and tried to set it up to the Android phone The phone was able to detect versa but won't pursue with pairing... But that's fine, I just re-set it up to my iPhone.

I have a Huawei p20 Lite and didn't know they had compatibility issues with Fitbit. I was able to sync it the first time when I got the fitibit but after a few days it stopped syncing. I had to reset the fitbit and reconfigure it so that the bluetooth would work, but then again two days passed and it stopped syncing.

Not really. Sometimes I unpair and then pair the versa and leave the phone and watch together for a few minutes so that they sync and they do. But I cannot count on syncing them both very often.

Hi,
Got tired of reading items stating that it won't work 100%. So I just paired my fitbit device with an iOs phone...

Why does Fitbit not solve the issue with syncing to Huawei P20 Lite?
I purchased my phone before the Fitbit so now I have to purchase a new I hope e just because the syncing isn't working?
I think thus gives fitbit an awful reputation. Is there another way perhaps online where we can link our devices to? It's inexcusable on Fitbit's part.

because I just bought a new phone and salesman told me that it will work, because it is Android 8.1
https://www.fitbit.com/eu/shop/versa?color=black and check this!!! Specs- no information - it will not work with Huawei P20 Lite!!!!!!!

We have EXACTLY the same problem!
switched from Apple to android and the Huawei P20 lite is a brilliant phone - quick, fantastic battery life, with the added extras of facial recognition and finger print. ALL OTHER BLUETOOTH devices except newer FitBit connect fine - headphones, car, BOSE speakers etc etc.
Our old Flex2 work with the phone, but my partner’s Ionic nor my daughter’s Versa will not connect.
i Love FitBit and the challenges etc you can do with family and friends, the only alternative we can see is a new phone for Christmas 🎄!

Someone commented on another repost that he created a fix that you can download on the Google play store. I haven't tried it yet, since this phone is for work, but I'm curious if it works

For all those who are having problems with syncing their Fitbit versa or any Fitbit for that matter with their Huawei p30 lite! I'm afraid to inform you guys Fitbit are not bring going any update out as they have found that the technology in the Huawei too different to fix this issue. This is what I have been told by Fitbit today. But all not lost I may have found a way of fixing the prob on a temp basis and that is the get it synced but keep the app running at all times in the background. This is seeming to work so far 🤞 it continues! Hope his info helps you guys. And for those who really having issues syncing in the first place, I found that restarting my phone and Fitbit and impairing it from bluetooth and the fitbit app before hand helps. Make sure your Fitbit is on charge and is at least 50% too!
