Versa draining phone battery?

Replies are disabled for this topic. Start a new one or visit our Help Center.

I got a new Galaxy S9+ a few weeks ago and was thrilled with the battery life. By the end of the day I'd still have around 20% battery left. I just started using my new Versa 4 days ago, and every day since my phone's battery has been down to single digits by early afternoon. I disabled All-Day Sync, but that hasn't helped. Any thoughts? TIA!

As much I love the Versa I just got. The draining battery on my Note 8 is driving me insane. Never had the issue with Charge 2 and still lasted me after 2 years with average of 6 days without charging. I wear it everyday, shower with it and all sort of activity. Can the Versa do the same as the Charge 2? Should I be concerned?

I'm having the exact same issues. Galaxy S7, running Android 8.0.0. My battery drains super fast and my phone gets really warm. I often get notifications from my phone that an app (Fitbit) is using up the CPU resources and it gives me the option to close the app, which I do, but it must restart itself immediately, as the notification that fitbit is running in the background is always on. I do have the all-day sync on and I am using one of the labs clockfaces with the little dog.

I got up a few hours ago (full charge overnight) and I'm already down to 41% battery, and before I got my fitbit I could usually go at least a full day without charging my battery, more if I kept the battery saver on.

After downgrading to the previous version app, the battery has not been draining. It's the APP issue not the Fitbit

This same thing happened to me. They already cam out with a update to the app to fix the issue.

I think a lot of people who returned the fitbit versa need to be more patient. Right now there is solution by using the downgraded App. Use it till they fix it. Fitbit Versa is a great upgrade from charge 2 and comparing to any other fitness watches, the battery life is way better than iWatch, Android watches.  I downgraded the app since yesterday, and at 100 % charge with normal use today from 6:30AM this morning, I am at 74% and that is including listening to audio book, social media, chats. The app only used 5.97mb since yesterday.

Be patient and let them solve. Stop blaming the company and find solutions.

I agree. I decided to wait it out until they resolve the issue. I love my versa and believe this can be fixed. 😊

Copied this from other forum

Went to Fitbit APK mirror site and installed 2.72 from there:

https://www.apkmirror.com/apk/fitbit-inc/fitbit/fitbit-2-72-release/fitbit-2-72-android-apk-download...

Then I went to my google store and unchecked "automatically update" for Fitbit (so I stay on 2.72 until they come out with a new and verified version that works).

I don't think it's the watch itself (some people think it's their brand new Versas, but mine and my hubby's Ionic does the same, my son didn't update his Ionic and his is still working fine but he syncs to his tablet), I believe there is something funky on the operation of the latest Fitbit app update (the 2.73 and the beta 2.74, which apparently still has the bugs as per beta testers reports).

Hope this helps, good luck!

Yes, but many people like myself "upgraded" to this Versa because of the issues Blaze had. And to come to this? Patients is going away for many. Its only been a month Ive had this. A month. Considering the years they had developing the previous products, should make the fastest release a breeze.

Not to mention, my Versa was perfect the first three weeks.

I was simply alerting to the issue. Not pointing fingers. That is how
things get addressed and fixed. I have to quams with my watch. Please don't
be quick to point fingers back, it doesn't feel professional. Thank you for
the temporary solution.

"I think a lot of people who returned the fitbit versa need to be more patient."

Professional? If we need to be more professional, its Fitbit not us. As for me, I paid for this product to replace a faulty one. If anyone can make a comment about not being patient, I can definitely state my reason for not. He has no idea where the inpatient people come from. Again, the impatience from my part comes before the Versa.

At the end of the day, I have to be patient because Fitbit is are the only ones who can fix it.

But lets be professional now..... with a stock price falling and falling, past products failing and now a new product launch falling short with the same reasons, the professional to do is to return it for a refund because there will be no Fitbit Co.

Versa is a Blaze replacement. Its not in the product line any longer. Usually when you kill a product you take its mistakes, fix them and relaunch an "improved one". New design, new position, new options, new price, new name. No Blaze 2. These product needs to generate revenue, thats the bottomline. The amount of importance this has is huge, it competes with the Apple Watch (design), beats Apple Watch in price, and blows it out of the water in data/statistic. Now, with all that and more in stake, why would a simple code be over looked in the app?

In my case, the product worked fine for three weeks before I had issues. The app was the same version since I purchased it. Nothing changed. Nothing. And having experience with 3 other Fitbit, I believe its a faulting battery. I really hope I am wrong.  I love this product because of the stats it gives me. I looked at the Apple Watch but decided on the Versa because of the stats. There is no comaprision.

Dude, what version of the Fitbit app are you using? Downgrading the App to 2.72 will help with the draining battery issue with your phone. Are you even on the same page as what we are talking about?  I don't even know what are the issues you are having with your Fitbit Versa

Hi @Hyasuma

There is a Play Store update released yesterday that claims to have temporarily fixed the battery/data usage on Android phones. Make sure you go to Play store to have it updated to see if that resolves the issue. I downloaded it a few hours ago and currently monitoring. They say they haven't completely fixed it yet just a minor patch in the interim as they continue investigating.
