Better Endomondo integration?

I have been using Flex fo quite some time and just got myself Surge. Same day i got i found myslef in "problems"(maybe not Fitbit's problems my currently are)......

For almost two years i have been using Endomondo to track my runing stats and i have quite a lot of data stored there i would like to keep it that way. When I track excercise in Endomondo it gets to Fitbit and is stored as exercise.When tracking steps with Fitbit data, steps get to Endomondo and are stored as steps there. So if i understand this correctly, both API's have read/write access.

What i was expecting with Surge is that i can go out for a run without my phone, start Run on Surge and track everything there. Once i am done with excercie and everything is synced to Fitbit i expected data to appear on Endomondo as runing exercise (with time, pace, miles.......and if it is not too much GPS data).

What did i get in Endomondo? I got just additional steps on step counter..... Now i did a lot of various API work, on both sides - creating them and integrating with them and this should not be big problem. You store Run from Surge as exercise in Fitbit so there is a way to differentiate it from steps. And since you are giving (not sure is it push from your side or pull from theirs) data to Endomondo i am 100% sure that you can send them separat exercise data.

Here is what your's API provides (so i am correct...):

    {
        "activityId":12030,
        "calories":1124,
        "description":"Running - 5 mph (12 min/mile)",
        "distance":2,
        "duration":7322000,
        "name":"Running"
    }

 I've read that you are expanding API to provide GPS and HR data i hope that we will be ale to access that data through 3rd party apps really soon.

Now this might be wrong place for complaining and if you do not push data to Endomondo please correct me and i will take my problems to them 🙂

Thanks,

Thank you for joining us @rinasek!  Endomondo and Fitbit share pre-determined information, in this case steps is included in the information shared. However, even if you're not able to see that information in Endomondo, you can keep it in your Fitibit account.

Hope this helps and good luck!

Is this likely to change @VivisFitbit? Adding steps counted to endomondo is useless, I see it is perfectly integrated with strava however? When will the same data be expected in a useful format to endomondo.

I doubt the answer above satisfied @rinasek?
