We were testing FitBit API and the tester did some walking, but it did not show up in API as a walking activity, but did appear in the totalDistance entry. I can instruct the tester how to do this properly, but for other users this would be unreasonable. Does FitBit not auto-categorize activities? And/or does FitBit force or strongly urge / remind users that they need to categorize activities? I don't personally have a device and don't know about this, but it reflects badly on us when someone says "FitBit connection is not working". At this level of complexity (us instructing the users how to use FitBit) we really can't take data for anything but the totalDistance.
