How do I get access to the Fitbit API?

Fitbit has an open API, so anyone can create an app that uses Fitbit data as long as it complies with the terms of service. More information is at https://dev.fitbit.com/.

 

Fitbit users will need to authorize your application to use their data and, optionally, write data. The Fitbit API uses standard OAuth 1.0a for application authorization and authenticated requests.
