Last Names now returned by the api

Since this morning I can see that the display names of the fitbit users returned by the profile and friends endpoints contains the lastname. 

 

The doc  says that only the first letter of the lastame should be returned 

 

Why is that change ?

I dont know why they have changed it but you can also see there last names in the friends leaderboard and challenges.

A lot of users have been moaning on forums about this change.
