Watch stopped working

Watch started losing track of time and wouldn’t sync.  Did a hard reset and now it won’t connect to my phone at all.  The APP works on my iPhone but the watch is saying “Download the Fitbit APP” on the main screen with the Blue Diamond logo.  Help.
