7 day count not including additional exercises

My 7 day count is not including my additional exercise that i do each day.  Since the upgrade it will only count my normal daily steps.  My 5k run which I add manually as exercise is ignored, why and can it fixed?

I'm surprised this has only just changed for you. My understanding is that manually added steps (or steps from 3rd party apps) have never counted towards badges and challenges and it was several months ago since they stopped counting to the 7 day total on the friends tile.

 

Unfortunately, there is no way round this restriction. It is assumed that this restriction is intended to deter those that might be tempted to cheat.
