Fitbit not keeping track of steps

Ever since I changed the battery in my Fitbit; it's not keeping track of my steps. I have taken out my battery numerous times, it's in properly, I have wiped it, swiped it and it still isn't working properly.  I look and have 5,000+ steps and the next time I look, I have 45 steps. I got this in Novemeber and up until now, I have LOVED my Fitbit. I'm hoping i don't need to buy another $7 battery, that's too expensive when I've only had my battery for only a week.

It's nice to see new faces around @Summer61! Welcome my friend! Cat WinkWhy don't you try following the steps provided in this thread where some users where having the issue and they were able to resolve it. Sometimes the side spring may be bent as a result of improper battery insertion or pressure being applied to the back housing.

Hope this helps, let me know if it works! Cat Embarassed

I have an older one, but it just started doing something similar.  I get up in the a.m. and it shows 2 bars (or 40%), then 3-4 hours later when i actually have  added a lot of steps, it will show one bar.  I too have changed bands, cleaned the connection  etc.  Anyone with fitbit have advise.

It's nice to see you around more often @teedupintx! Welcome my friend! Woman HappyThis is weird...can you please provide me with a picture showing me exactly what you're looking on your Zip's display? Also, have you tried restarting your tracker by following the steps provided in this post

Hope this helps, let me know the outcome! Man Wink

Just came back from my 1/2 hour lunch walk like I do everyday and my Zip says I walked 504 steps!  It says my battery is "medium" on my phone app but it has not been that long since I put a new one in. We have a challenge at work that my steps are counted so I'm not pleased about loosing the 6,000+ I ususally have by this time of day!

Hey hey hey @mspibb welcome to our Community! Thanks for joining us! Cat HappyI'd like to know if this is the first time you experience this? Also, have you tried restarting your tracker? Please know that the battery level you're seeing on your tracker is the one from the last time your tracker synced with your mobile device so maybe this is why you're seeing a discrepancy on the battery level of your tracker vs. the battery level you're seeing on your mobile device.

Keep me posted! Robot Happy
