Fitbit wont sync to phone or computer

As everyone else i am unable to get my zip to sync to my phone or my computer. If I take out the battery and replace will that erase all my steps for today? I dont know what else to try without losing todays hard work!

Welcome to the Fitbit Community @Jyockey. It's great to have you here. Taking out the battery and replacing it shouldn't erase your steps for today, however without performing a restart to your Fitbit Zip you can follow these troubleshooting steps to resolve syncing issues:

- Reboot your iOS device.
-Open your iOS settings, turn off Bluetooth for 10 seconds, and then turn Bluetooth back on.
-Double check your iOS device is connected to the internet.
-Open the Fitbit App to initiate a sync.
