@maggiemt @Bunny78 Welcome to the Fitbit Community! It's great to have you here! It seems that my friend @Bunny78 did a great job in finding the workaround. Let me also add that you can also clean the compartments with a cotton swab and a little bit of alcohol. If this doesn't work, try a new 3V coin battery CR2025.

I had the same problem. There is a little silver connection at the 5 o'clock position in the battery compartment. You need to pull that out a little bit, so the connection can be made with the battery. I worked for me. I hope it works for you.
