How to add unrecorded steps to weeekly cumulative number

This is so frustrating! I ran for an hour this morning and Fitbit kept turning off and on while resetting my steps to zero. I changed the battery this morning as well. I was able to manually add my steps to the dashboard but it does not transfer to the my cumulative steps for the week... does anyone have a fix to reclaiming my steps or do I lose them? I know, it shouldn’t matter but it does.

I'm afraid you've lost those steps from the friends tile total for the week - only steps directly tracked by the fitbit count towards that total.

That makes the ability to self-report steps for a non-synching device worthless!

It's worthless in the sense of challenges but if you just want to keep track of your steps and calories then it's not worthless at all.

I think the restrictions are there to deter people who might cheat.

If you can find a way to keep people from cheating at anything - let me
know.

To simply assess steps - any device can do that. The point is to post them
to an incentive platform: since self-report can't do that it seems like a
waste of time.

How did you add the steps on your dashboard? I would be happy to know that at least!
