Setup new account for wife

I have just purchased my second Fitbit Zip ( for my wife) and am wondering if I have to set up a new account or can I attach the new Zip to my initial setup account

You'l need to set up a new fitbit account for your wife using a different email address. This is so you can provide profile settings for each of you (height, weight etc) and you can see each others step data separately.

If you try to add a second zip to your account it will just replace the original.

Awesome help @SteveH! Welcome to the Forums @trump! Adding to what @SteveH stated, setting up unique accounts ensures that each person’s dashboard provides an accurate picture of daily activity.

When you create a Fitbit account you’re asked for personal information, such as height and weight, so that certain data is calculated correctly. To setup and create a new Fitbit account, take a look at the help article How do I set up my Fitbit device?
