Tracking too many steps while I'm in the house

It is 10:21 a.m. and so far today, the most steps I've gotten is going up and down the stairs to do laundry.  Honesly, I should be below 1000 steps, but my Zip puts me at over 6000.  When I look at the bar graph display for today, I don't see that those bars would add up to 6000.  What is wrong?

 

BTW this Zip was purchased in Sept. 2013 and I wear it daily.  (I think I've missed only one day.)

If you haven't done it already please perform a restart to your Zip by following @Odyssey13's steps. If this doesn't help, try setting up your tracker as a replacement device as @Odyssey13 stated here. Your synced data will remain the same.
