Zip users who get readings on elliptical machines: Where do you wear it?

Replies are disabled for this topic. Start a new one or visit our Help Center.

On Amazon's review of Zip lots of people say they are getting good results on elliptical machines. If you have good experience using zip to count steps on ellipticals, where are you wearing it?

I've tried wrist, pocket, underwear, ankle, and even placing it on the arm of the elliptical machine. The best so far is placig it on my t-shirt's neck, as suggested by StephanieFitbit of this community

Just wondering what everyone else is doing that I'm not getting right.

(PS I don't swing my arms while on the elliptical, in case that information helps)

Hello @elliptical_nut, good to see you around in our community. In this case the Fitbit Zip works well when you worn very close to the body. A friend of mine, usually wear the Zip on her pants, with the screen facing inside but not in direct contact with the skin. The best practices to wear a Zip is in a shirt pocket, bra, pants pocket, belt, or waistband. Try out a few different locations to see what is most comfortable and more accurate.

The Zip is not designed to be worn in direct contact with the skin. Always use the silicone holder when clipping it to a bra or waistband. Do not wear the Zip inside your bra. Some users may experience skin irritation.

It will depend also of the intensity of your exercise you maintain on the elliptical machine. However the Zip is not designed for this type of exercise, though your body is in motion while on exercise machines like the elliptical, this activity doesn't require steps. If the issue persist, my best recommendation would be to create a manual activity on your Dashboard. If you need the steps for this I have shared the instructions on the following link of this post for other user, it might come handy.

Hope it helps, see you around!Robot wink
