Zip will not pair with s9 after phone update

Replies are disabled for this topic. Start a new one or visit our Help Center.

My zip was syncing fine until my s9 had an update.   Now the zip will not pair with my phone.  I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling the Fitbit app.  I have taken the battery out of the zip.  I have attempted to change settings on the app and my phone.  My phone's bluetooth and location are on.  Still no luck.  My phone will find my zip but says it cannot pair and to check device settings. Fitbit keeps popping a message that my zip and my app need linked.  Please help.

Agreed.  I wear a watch I like and have zero interest in a watch product.  This was great until the update.   But the update was rolled out for some phones awhile ago and apparently there has been no solution to the problem in the intervening months. Sent from my Sprint Samsung Galaxy S8.

Garmin Vivoki is a clip-on for belt or clothes. Found mine on eBay, and am
waiting for delivery. Bye, Fitbit.

Unfortunately I think the only way to get Fitbit's attention is to complain in other venues. If you bought your FB through Costco, contact the Costco Concierge; they did a great job for me when I had an issue with a laptop i bought through them last year. If you bought it on Amazon, go to the comments section and write a review. I don't think anything else will get Fitbit's attention. Customer service is certainly NOT their priority.

Now also seeing on this Forum that Fitbit discontinued the Zip in March, so I don't think this will get resolved now. Probably time to look elsewhere.

I bought a vivo fit 3 from Garmin. I'm very happy with it.

Hello. Is there any update on this? Seems ridiculous to have to remove the battery everytime to sync my Fitbit. Bluetooth on phone finds the zip when I scan for devices but then tells me it 'Couldn't pair. Check settings for this device and try again.' With the actual app on phone (Samsung Galaxy s9) it says, after hanging for ages 'can't find tracker'.

That's not right

I have to remove battery EVERY time to force a sync.

Same for me.  Just got galaxy so.  Everything worked great first day.  Followed all steps, worked 1 day and wont sync again.  This is ridiculous.

It is unfortunate but it could be that Samsung is the culprit inasmuch as they have their own fitness app.   I just don't carry my phone everywhere I go and the Fit works better for me.  So now I periodically update Fit by removing the battery and just track my steps daily writing them down. Sent from my Sprint Samsung Galaxy S8.

Hi,

I was able to sync my friend's Blaze but not the zip. If I unpair the zip won't I lose all of my activity for the past 2 days since I removed the Blaze?

Not sure why all the steps for us to try. It is very clear that zip was not tested with the upgraded android version. Let us know when fitbit resolves the compatibility issues with the s9 version.
