I have a Android Samsung Galaxy S8 and haven't been able to sync since having a system upgrade without taking the battery out of the Zip.
I just chatted with Fitbit support. They had me turn off Bluetooth then go to Settings/App/Fitbit/Storage/clear cache - turn off phone - power on - turn on Bluetooth then go to Fitbit app and force sync. I worked for me.
