Hello and welcome to the forums @myjays

When you first get your Fitbit, you will see burned calories. The devices begin the day at midnight, so no matter what time you set up, those burned calories will be there. This article on burned calories may help you. click to read

There is no way for us to remove them, but it won't hurt your step statistics.

Hi there @myjays, I like to see new faces around. Indeed, as @Odyssey13 mentioned before, these calories play an important role on your daily activity. As the article mentioned, your BMR counts almost half of your total calories and start counting after midnight. So is normal to see calories burned at first time in the morning.

As an additional note, when you are in doubt of how many calories you should burn for an exercise, you can use these Calories Calculator for more information.

See you around and let us know if you have more questions.
