Have been using a zip for about 18 months, and based on my BMR and steps I think the calorie burn it calculated are pretty accurate. I ususally do 10k steps at 4mph with my heart rate in the cardio zone. most days I have a nice 500 caloire cushion.
Since switching to the fitbit one, with no changes to my activities or my profile, I am barely meeting my calorie burn for the day. it seems obvious to me that the firmware is using a differnt alogrithem to calculate calories burned. If I walk 15000 steps a day and 2/3 of them are in the cardio range, then I should have have some bonus caloires to burn. I like the sleep tracking and stair climbing items on the fitbit one, but the calories seem way off. Any suggestions, or should I just bag it and go back to my zip?

It's nice to see our Community is growing @tphilon! Welcome my friend! Mmmhh this is weird since Fitbit devices will track your calories burned based on your BMR and depending on the activity you have done so far. Why don't you try restarting your tracker by following the steps provided in this thread.
Let me know the outcome!

Fitbit one shows under 100 calories per 15 minute mile while I am in cardio zone.
Already reset the fitbit one 2 times before my original post. Didn't fix
the discrepancies.
Zip shows correct burn for cardio a mile in 15 minutes should burn about 150 to 175 calories
