Community Guidelines

Guidelines and Fitbit Terms of Use

We believe in a Fitbit Community that empowers you to live a healthier, more active life by connecting you with friends, other like-minded people, your local community and Fitbit. We aim to provide a safe space that motivates, supports, educates, guides, and inspires you. The Fitbit Community is a peer-to-peer community for Fitbit users who are passionate about health and fitness. With that in mind, we will remove content that does not align with our mission. Please remember that your use of the Fitbit Community is subject to the following guidelines and the Fitbit Terms of Service.

Help keep the forums safe and appropriate. If you post content that includes the below, it may be removed and you may be warned or banned:

  • Nudity (including underwear shots). Specifically, we do not allow images showing the female nipple, exposed buttocks, genitalia, underwear shots or other sexualized imagery.
  • Sexually explicit content or references
  • Abuse, violence or illegal activity, or drug use
  • Graphic descriptions of, methods, or promotion of self-harm or suicide or eating disorders. You are welcome to share thoughts and feelings around these types of difficult topics and to seek support, but we will remove content and images that are inappropriate for the Fitbit Community as they can be triggering for others.

Be considerate. We all want to share a positive experience in the Fitbit Community, so please be polite, constructive, and respectful when interacting with other members. Your opinions are always welcome, but inflammatory or personal insults, harassment, obscene or abusive comments and hate speech are not acceptable in public or private messages. This includes any content that promotes discrimination, bigotry, racism, sexism, homophobia or transphobia, or harm against any individual or group.

Be responsible. You are solely responsible for your interactions with other Community users. Use common sense and good judgment when interacting with others through posts or comments, especially sharing any personal contact details such as email or phone number.

Spam will be removed. Please refrain from posting content that would constitute multi-posting, advertising, spam, or any form of solicitation. Posts or comments will be removed if they include any of the following:

  • Identical content that is posted several consecutive times, especially within a short timeframe
  • Anything that seems to be posted by a bot or is otherwise posted in an automated fashion
  • Promotion for a product, service, or site for financial gain
  • Attempts to gather followers for a personal blog or non-Fitbit affiliated site

Contribute. We value your voice! Your discussions and contributions are what makes the Community useful and helpful to others, so please participate fully to get the most out of the Community.

Respect privacy. In addition to protecting the privacy of yourself and others, please respect copyright and other intellectual property, and other applicable laws. Reference and cite sources appropriately, and do not publish pictures or material from another person without their consent.

Corporate Wellness Groups: Corporate Wellness Groups are private groups on the Fitbit Community Feed for employees or members of organizations, such as employers or health plans that participate in a wellness program through Fitbit Health Solutions. Your participation in a Corporate Wellness Group is subject to these guidelines and the Fitbit Terms of Service in the same manner as participation in any other aspect of the Community, and users may flag objectionable posts in these groups for review by the Fitbit Community team. Note that some of these guidelines may not apply to a Corporate Wellness Group--for example, a Corporate Wellness Group may allow postings advertising or promoting events or certain brands, and the responsible organization may have its own additional guidelines that may apply to your participation. The organization responsible for each Corporate Wellness Group will designate a Group Feed Administrator to enforce any additional guidelines specific to that organization’s Corporate Wellness Group.

We’re here to help. If you recognize any violation of these guidelines or the Terms of Service, please notify us by reporting the post - see how in our help article here.
