2 years of existing iphone data, how to pull into fitbit app and history?

Replies are disabled for this topic. Start a new one or visit our Help Center.

I became a fitbit user in 2014, and used it on my phone regularly until May of 2015. Got a new phone, never reloaded the app, and now I'm back on track. The problem: I just downloaded the app, it synced the last week of data from my phone's step counter, but I can't find how to get the rest of the history. That's almost two years of steps and miles that I don't have visibility on in Fitbit app or website. Is there any way to get this data? Obviously the software has the ability to pull it from the phone, since it got 1 week...how to get the rest?

Thanks!

Hello @cycle61, thanks for joining us, it's great to have you on board.

Fitbit trackers can only store 7 days of detailed information and 30 of general information, meaning that if you haven't synced your tracker in a long time, the app and website will only display detailed information from the last 7 days and only totals from the last 30, which is why we recommend syncing your tracker at least once a week so the data can sync and get stored in our servers.

However, the previous information stored in your account it's still accesible and you can go back until May 2015 and be able to check that information.

I hope this can be helpful, in case you need anything else, keep me posted! Smiley Wink

Maybe my post was unclear. I'm trying to bring step data recorded by the iphone into the fitbit app, not data from a fitbit device.

In the apple health app everything is visible, but it doesn't have near the features of the fitbit app, including this website. And I have a couple thousand miles of walking and hiking I'd like to have show up here. 🙂

Hello @cycle61, I hope you're doing well, thanks for taking the time to reply. It's a pleasure to me to welcome you to the Fitbit Community @Jen_5, thanks for joining the conversation.

@cycle61, thanks for clarifying this to me. At this moment the Fitbit app and the Apple Health app can't be linked, which means the information stored in the Apple Health app can't be transferred to the Fitbit app. However, you can set up MobileTrack in the Fitbit app in order to use your phone and its sensors as a device that can be connected to the Fitbit app.

To set up MobileTrack:

  1. Open the Fitbit app and tap on the Account symbol at the top right corner of the screen, then tap on "Set up a New Device"
  2. Choose MobileTrack and follow the onscreen instructions to continue

I hope this can be helpful, give it a try and keep me posted in case you need anything else. Smiley Wink

Thanks for the follow up, I've had my FB for six months now and loving it. Certainly would like to be able to incorporate old data, but it's not a huge deal now that I have a solid new dataset built up.

I am starting to agree, what’s the bit deal of starting over. Maybe will make me work a little harder to get my numbers back. Good point, thanks!  Have a great weekend!
