Active minutes not counting correclty.

Is it just me, or is the activity minutes feature much more sensitive to pauses in activity than in previous versions of the iOS software? It seems now that pausing for just a few seconds - which is sometimes inevitable especially when running outdoors - now stops the count and I have to build up to the minimum period again before it adds any time to the count (that minimum time seems to vary too, anything between 7 and 10 minutes)

Hello @JohnLManchester, thanks for joining the Fitbit Community, it's great to see new faces around! Smiley Happy

This seems like a very odd situation, when did you start experiencing this issue? Which tracker are you currently using? Have you restarted it lately? It's also possible the Fitbit app is not updating the information correctly with our servers, which is why I would like to suggest you to go to the online Dashboard and check if your Active Minutes are correct in here. If so, I would like to recommend the following:

  • Force-close the app by double tapping the home button and swiping up the app.
  • Log out from the app, restart your phone and log back in.

I hope this can be helpful, give it a try and keep me posted in case you need anything else! Smiley Wink

Hi Marco

I've now had a chance to test your recommendations.

I am using a Fitbit one and had noticed the problem for about a week before
I first contacted you.

I used the Fitbit two days ago without making any changes and then looked
at the website dashboard. It had the same record of active minutes as the
iPhone app, which again seemed to be under recording my activity. However,
the record of 15 minute periods seemed wrong - for example one of the
periods showed only 7 minutes activity when I was pretty sure I'd been
continuously active.

I then rebooted the Fitbit, logged out of the app and logged in again and
for the last two days the Fitbit and app seem to be working normally again
and recording full activity.

So, thanks for the help, but if the problem occurs again, I'll let you know.

Regards

John
