Adding Zumba activity to iOS App

I have been using a FitBit since Dec. 26, 2014. I’m extremely happy with my FitBit and how it tracks my walks that I take each day. However, I go to Zumba 2 days each week, and I am frustrated that it’s not possible to add my Zumba activity information via my iOS app!

I know that it’s currently possible for me to log in on FitBit.com in order to manually add Zumba as an activity - and then manually add:

  1. Date
  2. Start Time
  3. Duration

However, it’s not a very convenient process. I just manually logged all my Zumba sessions since January of this year to my FitBit account, and it took me about an hour to complete!

I am hoping that FitBit sees this post & will consider making it possible to log Zumba time from the app! It would make me so happy!

@Beccaryn   Here is a suggestion to help you get more from the app -- instead of using the fitbit.com (web) dashboard.  From your app dashboard on your phone, tap on you exercise tile.  Now tap on the stopwatch in the upper right.  Toggle the bar on top from Track to Log.  Now type in Zumba in the Exercise type.  You can change the Start and Duration times.  Tapping on one of those items gives you a scrolling wheel.  Adjusting the Start and Duration times will give you a calorie burn.  When you see what you want, tap on Add.  Now you can add your class from your phone app right after it happens.

I hope this helps!

Hello @Beccaryn and a warm welcome.  Which Fitbit tracker are you using?  There might be some better options for tracking your Zumba.

@Beccaryn   Fitbit has stopped selling the Zip.  I want to give you a little information in case your Zip gives up and you are looking for a replacement.  It seems like you prefer a torso tracker, so I would suggest an Inspire plus the clip (the clip is sold separately).  The Inspire has auto-recognition features.  It should be able to auto-recognize your Zumba and it would record it as Aerobic Workout.  You can easily change it to Zumba in the app.

Just a thought.

I guess this is the best option we have right now.    Why cant Fitbit just let us create whatever excercise shortcuts we want?   Why do they make it so difficult?
