All-Day Sync isn't working

Replies are disabled for this topic. Start a new one or visit our Help Center.

Your software on iOS has always been subpar. It used to not sync, ever, unless I forced it.

Lately it seems to be working much better. But it still is inconsistent. I just now had to open the Fitbit app and press the button on the fit bit to light up the screen.

And then it synced. Why does it not just work.

This was despite the phone and fitbit lying next to each other for two nights.

Welcome back to the Fitbit Community, @norman_cates

I appreciate your participation in the Forums and sharing the details of the syncing difficulty you're experiencing. Thank you for your troubleshooting efforts. I understand how you are feeling and appreciate your feedback. Our team is always working on improving our devices and user experiences, and your comments are always welcome.

You can find more information about how Fitbit devices sync in this help article: How do Fitbit devices sync their data? For the complete troubleshooting instructions, please see this help article: Why won't my Fitbit device sync?

I also recommend doing the following if you're on iOS 13 or higher:

- Open Settings app on phone
- Scroll down, tap Fitbit -> Toggle Location to 'Always'
- Ensure toggles next to Bluetooth and Background App Refresh are turned "On"

I'll be around if you need further assistance.

Hey ya,
Thanks for your reply.

However, there is no option for "Location" in the Settings for Fitbit.

And the other two are on.

Hi @norman_cates, thank you for your reply.

I appreciate your efforts and the additional details. In order to continue investigating the issue could you please confirm if you're on iOS 13?

If possible, could you try to sync your Fitbit device with another supported phone or device?

Please keep me posted.

Yes, iOS 13. Latest update. So why isn;t there a location option in the Fitbit settings?

This also happened with my iPhone 6S before this, and the phone before that.

I briefly had a Samsung Galaxy S10+ But I hadn't started back using the Fitbit then.

So... How often is this problem reported?

I can't believe that my devices are special in some way, especially since the problem has been present with my iPhone 6S and now iPhone 11.

I really don't have the luxury of finding another device. Especially now. Can you please let me know if there are logs or any way of finding out what's going on? Why doesn't the Fitbit app communicate with my watch to update the data on a regular basis.
