Hi Fitbit

I am having similar problem that others are having my Alta HR (2017) is not view able by the bluetooth and cannot be connected too. I have tried restarting my bluetooth, then my iphone, I have forgotten the the fitbit from the bluetooth options, i have forgotten the device by the app and finally i have deleted the app and all information waited for a couple of minutes, restarted the phone and then reinstalled. And still no luck unfortunately. The fitbit was operating normally until the update and the phone is able to pick up and connect other bluetooth devices. Any help would be appreciated. I love your products and what they have done for my health!

Hello @cow_oink

I see your having trouble pairing with your Alta HR. I did look to see if your iPhone XR is compatible with the new Fitbit App and indeed it is. I see you have tried everything to try and troubleshoot your pairing issue (you wrote a very informative post). I did note that you didn’t restart your Fitbit Alta HR. I really think you should try it to see if that helps. (Try to do the restart several times) Here’s how:

  1. Plug your charging cable into a USB port on your computer or any UL-certified USB wall charger.
  2. Clip the other end of the charging cable to the port on the back of the tracker. The pins on the charging cable must lock securely with the port. You’ll know the connection is secure when the tracker vibrates and you see a battery icon on your tracker’s display. Your tracker will begin charging.
  3. Press the button on your charging cable 3 times within a few seconds, briefly pausing between presses. The button is on the end of the charging cable that is plugged into your computer. When you see the Fitbit logo and the tracker vibrates, this means the tracker has restarted.
  4. Unplug your tracker from the charging cable.

Hi MegaBite. I had completely forgot about that little button. Thank you so much! I did what you said and got it connect all good on my end. I spammed the button on the charger lead and it connected! Have a great day!

My Alta HR is less than two months old and my iPhone XR is two days old, I tried this suggestion but it’s not working for me. An other advice?

Hello and welcome @jengreenquist

I apologize for my late response. I somehow missed this post so please forgive me. I understand you’re experiencing syncing issues.

Please first check here to insure that your IOS Device is compatible with the new Fitbit App:https://help.fitbit.com/articles/en_US/Help_article/2315

If your are indeed compatible with the new Fitbit App there are a few things we can try to get you syncing again. Let’s try restarting your Fitbit Tracker. Heres how:

https://help.fitbit.com/articles/en_US/Help_article/1186

If your still experiencing issues try turning your Bluetooth off then back on again.

If Restarting and toggling the Bluetooth doesn’t help I would suggest force shut the App and restart. Here’s how:

Turn off your Bluetooth

log out of the Fitbit App

completely shut down your device, wait 1-2 mins then restart your device

once your device fully loads enable your Bluetooth again

now log back into your Fitbit App as you normally would with your email address and password

now sync your device

Check your iOS settings if this problem persist and try this:

  1. Open your phone's settings.
  2. Scroll down, tap Fitbit > Toggle Location to "Always".
  3. Ensure toggles next to Bluetooth and Background App Refresh are turned ON.

If your still experiencing an issue try this: please go to the Bluetooth settings on your phone and remove the tracker. In the list of Bluetooth devices you'll see the Fitbit Tracker and next to it, this symbol "!". Hit the symbol and it will take you to the next step, once you're there select the option that says "Forget this device" or "Unpair". Once you've made sure about that, go back to the Fitbit app,, tap your profile picture then scroll down and select "Set up a Device". This should start the setup process for your device. Just follow the instructions as they come.

If the issue is not solved after the above steps, please take a look at the help articles: Why can't I set up my Fitbit device? or  Why won't my Fitbit device sync?

😃 Hopefully this will get you back up and running again. Please let me know
