After 1 year with a Charge HR I'm now using the Alta HR but distances covered during a run are not showing even when categorised. Appreciate advice please.

Hello @Pamela56, thanks for joining the Fitbit Community, have a warm welcome!
I understand your concern about the missing distance on your Run; however, activities that are recognized by SmartTrack, will not include distance or pace information in your exercise history. The reason the distance showed when you were using a Charge HR was because you initiated Exercise mode on your tracker and then categorized the activity as a run, walk, or hike.
In this situation, to measure the distance of your runs, walks or hikes I would like to recommend using MobileRun. To use MobileRun, please tap on the plus sign at the bottom of the Fitbit app and select Track Exercise.
On the next screen you can select if you'd like to start a walk, run or hike and even add Voice Cues. To start the exercise, tap on the Play button at the bottom of the screen.
I hope this resolves your inquiry, if there's anything else I can do for you, please keep me posted!
