I recently updated my iPhone to ios13. Since then I get asked to change my choice for location services “only when app is open” to “always on”. I select “no thanks”, the next time I open or switch to the Fitbit app, it asks me the same thing again, and again, and again, and again, and again, and again, and again, and again, and again, and again...(You get the picture). How do I get the app to remember my choice like it used to?

I keep getting this annoying notification too, even though I’ve also turned off my location services on the app. I already have it on my Fitbit and don’t need the app doing the same thing all the time and draining my battery. Why can’t this get fixed ?

Super annoying. Did you find a way to make it stop asking?

Yes, with my new Sense it is set to only when in use and I know longer have the reoccurring message. With the Versa 2 though i was never able to fix the prompt!

Not for me personally. Charge 4, App on iOS.
It seems to be less frequent. But still enough that I curse it when it pops up.
I did talk to an agent through live chat about it. The line seemed to be (paraphrased), "The tracker needs the app to have geo location on to function as intended." I've never turned on my apps GPS and everything seems fine. Save for that prompt. But that line was the response to any argument. Makes me think this is not high on the priority list or, more sinisterly, they want to keep it as is in order to persuade more people to turn it on.

Edit: of course right after I say this, it comes back again. I accidentally started tracking an exercise and it popped up to ask and now won’t stop. 😑
I kept messing with the settings. Disabled gps. Log out. Uninstall. Restart phone. Repeat. Login and it finally quit asking me. It didn’t ask for years then randomly did for a week or two then went away again. Not sure why it happens to some and not others.

Still haven't fixed this issue, it is super annoying. I use the fitbit for sleep tracking only and I do not want to share my location all the time.

I thought I was losing my mind! I have never had an issue with the GPS having to be set to Always until I wanted to go on a bike ride last week now the stupid thing keeps prompting me every time I open the bloody app even though I have set tracking to never. WTF?! Has your prompt reappeared at all?

Still happening in 2021 so I've started giving it 1 star reviews every time it updates or lets me review again. Perhaps they will bother doing something about it if their reviews start going down.
