App keeps asking choice for location services

Replies are disabled for this topic. Start a new one or visit our Help Center.

I recently updated my iPhone to ios13.  Since then  I get asked to change my choice for location services “only when app is open” to “always on”.  I select “no thanks”, the next time I open or switch to the Fitbit app, it asks me the same thing again, and again, and again, and again, and again, and again, and again, and again, and again, and again...(You get the picture).  How do I get the app to remember my choice like it used to?

I have to agree with you.  It's an on and off frustration and unnecessarily complicates the work out.

It’s almost 2022 and is still happening. WTF?

Is your Charge 4 auto detecting your exercise or are you choosing an
exercise that requires tracking of your location (ie running or biking)? I
think someone suggested this in the past and said that uninstall and
reinstall worked until they had to choose a tracking activity and then the
pop up started appearing again.

I always use auto-detecting for exercise (nd it's pretty good at it,)  I'm tempted to test that theory, but it's been so nice not getting that dang message that I fear it coming back and no/t leaving again!
And while I'm at it, where's the rocket ship?!

It is NOT resolved (!)

Two years and three Fitbits later, and the SAME PROBLEM EXISTS.   Seriously, Fitbit???   My bad for continuing to support your non-responsive business.

See you all next year when this thread has a couple of hundred more replies and still no action.  🙄

I am thinking the same charge 4 has been nothing but trouble for me, I am in no rush to get my Fitbit when I am charging it. Poorly supported product. After nearly 15 years pretty disappointing

This is so annoying and has been an issue for so long. Is this being fixed??

Still an issue. Has been going on for a long time. Any update?

I’m going to try reinstalling the application but if this nagging location services message isn’t resolved im throwing out my fitbits and buying something else. I want it to only track when I select run on my Fitbit.

Nagging looks gone for now but as soon as I try connecting a second Fitbit I can guarantee it’ll come back.

I accidentally started a "run" but the dreaded message didn't come back!  Maybe I got lucky, maybe they fixed/changed something.

Yes, as this is not resolved my long love with the fitbit devices ends this new year. Sucks, been a happy user for years but this is NOT ok.

I tried the uninstall and reinstall. Let me know if it works for you. It didn’t for me. Fitbit wants the data for whatever reason or they would have fixed this by now. I think most people just turn on location services. Not fixing it is a calculation they believe still favors them.
