App not recording exercise.

The FitBit app used to log my exercise if I had at least 45 active minutes. Now it will count my steps and active minutes but never count it as a day of exercise.

Hello @Elexis_Leann, have a warm welcome to the Fitbit Community, it's great to have you on board. Smiley Happy

I appreciate you have brought this to my attention. Tell me, are you currently using a tracker or are you using only the app with MobileTrack to keep record of your exercises? If you're using a tracker, which one? Have you restarted it yet? If so, please let me know so I can check this further.

If you're only using MobileTrack, please keep in mind that it only tracks basic activity data including steps, distance, and calories burned.

I hope this can be helpful, if there's anything else I can do for you, please feel free to reply.

Thank you for getting back to me! I use the Flex 2 tracker. Usually if I have at least 45 active minutes it counts as one day of exercise. But the other day I was on the treadmill for an hour and did more activity at the gym equaling about 110 active minutes but it wasn’t saying I did exercise that day. I’m going to try to reset it soon. I lost my charger when I was on military orders and all I have is an off brand charger that does not have the reset button.

Hello @Elexis_Leann, I hope you're doing well, thanks for taking the time to reply. Smiley Happy

I appreciate you have come back and provided me more details about your issue. I understand you're not able to restart your Flex 2 yet, but I would like to ask you to keep me updated once you do. Usually this will resolve an issue of this nature.

Thanks again for your patience and understanding, I'll be waiting to hear from you soon!

My Flex 2 also hasn’t tracked my exercise this week either.

I’m having the exact same problem with my Versa. It’s been happening for two to three weeks now. I’ve restarted my versa and the problem remains. I’ve even tried removing the icon on my Versa and putting it back on.

There are threads about this problem online in different help groups and I’ve tried every suggestion from members but nothing fixes it. The only thing it lets me do now is go in and manually record start and stop time of exercise and type of exercise which isn’t completely accurate to me. Then it fills in a bunch of detailed data about my exercise. But it changes if I change the type of exercise. Not accurate. This all just started happening out of the blue too. Seems to be more of an update issue than hardware issue.

Hello @Sponge_32 and @June.AG, thanks for joining the conversation, it's a pleasure for me to welcome you to the Fitbit Community.

I appreciate your participation in the forums and for letting me know the troubleshooting steps you've tried so far. Tell me, is your Fitbit device able to sync correctly to the app? If so, after syncing it, go to the Activities section of the online Dashboard and check if your activities were recorded here. If they were, it's possible the issue is related to the app, in which case I would like to suggest you the following:

  • Force-quit the app by double tapping the home button on your phone, then swipe up the app. If this doesn't seem to work:
  • Log out from the app, restart your phone and log back in.

I hope this can be helpful, give it a try and keep me posted in case you need anything else.
